Welcome Information for the First Week of School at City Centre
We are looking forward to our inaugural year of learning at City Centre! We hope you are looking forward to a wonderful summer break ahead making memories with family and friends. We are excited to see all our students this coming September and hear about their summer adventures!
Here is some key information to help you prepare for a smooth and happy first week back:
First Day of School (All Students: Kindergarten - Grade 7)
Our first day back for all students is Tuesday, September 8th, and it's a short day!
- Time: 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
- Where to Go: Please meet on the large grass field at the back of the school.
What to Expect:
- All students (including both Group A and Group B Kindergarten cohorts) will meet up on the field at 9:00 a.m.
- Students will gather and meet with the teachers for their current assigned grades.
- New students will be warmly welcomed and guided directly to their respective grade groups on the field.
- At 10:00 a.m., teachers will dismiss students from the field and let you know which doors to use for the rest of the week.
- Getting to school:
- Walking and riding is encouraged
- Pick up and drop off parking is very limited on Odlin Road
- Please do not stop in the drive-through drop off lane.
Please note: While Kindergarten students attend this initial 9:00 a.m. welcome hour on Tuesday, they will follow their specific gradual entry schedule for the remainder of the week. Please refer to the kindergarten-specific email package for those exact details.

First Full Day & Weekly Info
Wednesday, September 9th, will be the first full day for students in Grades 1-7.
- What to Bring: Please send your child with a water bottle, snack, and lunch.
- School Supplies: No need to bring any! All supplies are provided by the school. Once students are settled into their classes, information will be sent home about this year’s school fees, which covers school supplies.
- Class placements may be finalized as early as Friday, September 11th. Families will be notified of their child’s new pick-up location through an email.
- Student verification forms, permission forms, and information packages will be sent home during the week of September 14th – 18th, after class placements are finalized.
- Medical Alerts & Anaphylaxis Protocols: Please remember to identify allergies or medical conditions with your teachers and the office during the first week. Up-to-date medications (like EpiPens) and completed medical forms are returned to the office with your verification forms.
- Kindergarten: will follow their gradual entry schedule for the remainder of this week.

- 8:45 a.m. - Classes Begin
- 10:10 a.m. - Recess
- 11:50 a.m. – Lunch
- 12:39 p.m. – Classes continue after lunch
- 2:45 p.m. - Dismissal
