Help Shape Our Founding Community: Join the PAC Executive!
As we eagerly prepare to open our doors this September, we are looking for enthusiastic parents, guardians, and families to help form our very first Parent Advisory Council (PAC) Executive!
Building a vibrant, connected, and caring school environment is a team effort, and our PAC will play a vital role in that journey. We are looking to establish our executive team now so we can begin planning for the upcoming school year and, most importantly, submit our application for the BC Gaming Grant. Securing this grant early provides crucial funding that goes directly toward enriching the student experience.
We also recognize the amazing support of our neighbours and our fellow PACs in their offer to help set up our first PAC executive.
If you are interested in creating or joining City Centre's PAC, please email our principal, Brett Cameron, at bcameron@sd38.bc.ca.
Why join the PAC Executive?
Be a Founding Voice: This is a unique opportunity to help establish the culture, traditions, and goals of a brand-new school from day one.
Connect with the Community: It is a fantastic way to meet other parents, build lasting friendships, and work closely with school staff.
Make a Direct Impact: You get to be actively involved in decisions that positively affect the daily lives and education of all our students.
What does a PAC do? A strong PAC is the heartbeat of a school’s community. Through collaboration and fundraising, the PAC contributes to:
Enhanced Learning: Funding for outdoor learning spaces, playground equipment, new library books, technology, math manipulatives, and specialized classroom equipment.
Unforgettable Experiences: Subsidizing field trips, guest speakers, cultural performances, and arts programs.
Community Building: Organizing fun, family-focused events like movie nights, welcome BBQs, and much more.
Extracurricular Support: Providing resources for school clubs, band, and athletics.
Whether you have past PAC experience or are just looking to get involved for the first time, we would love to have you on board. You don't need to be an expert—just someone who cares about making our new school an incredible place for kids to learn and grow.
If you are interested in putting your name forward for an executive role, or if you simply want to learn more about what is involved, please reach out directly at newschool@sd38.bc.ca.
Let’s build something amazing together!
